In addition to our free live webinars, the Career and Academic Resource Center (CARC) offers the following resources to support your career planning and academic skills building.
Virtual Drop-in Career Advising
Advising Hours
Fifteen-minute virtual career advising sessions are available on one Monday per month, September to May, between 1pm and 3:45pm ET.
These first-come, first-served slots with Amanda Peters are available to all currently registered Extension School students and alumni to ask questions about career options, resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, and interviewing skills.
Registration opens the Friday before each drop-in date and any open slots can be booked up until the drop-in hours are concluded. Drop-in dates for Fall 2024 are September 9, October 7, November 4 and December 2.
Career Services for Admitted Degree Candidates & Alumni
Admitted degree candidates and degree alumni can review the numerous career services available to them — including the annual Harvard Extension School Virtual Career Fair — through the Mignone Center for Career Success.
Learning Assessments
These free learning assessments — a series of modules and a separate, single assessment — have been designed through research to help you identify your study strengths.
Other Resources
These free resources have been created by either other departments within Harvard Extension School, or within the University. They are available to all Harvard Extension School students.
Writing Center
The Writing Center offers one-on-one tutorials to registered Harvard Extension School students working on writing assignments related to their HES coursework.
Math Question Center
The tutors at the Math Question Center, which is open two nights a week, are available to help you with math-related questions for students registered in most math (and some econ) courses.

This guide has been prepared by the Harvard College Writing Program and contains critical information you need to properly use and cite sources.
Harvard Writes
This website offers resources and examples, developed by Harvard faculty, related to various aspects of academic writing and discipline-specific writing recommendations.
