Episode 5

The Faculty Aide program at Harvard Extension School offers eligible undergraduate, graduate, and pre-medical program students the opportunity to develop the research skills they need to become future scholars and the experience serves as an excellent vehicle to crystallize academic interests.

Join us as we sit down and talk to Blake Hite about his experiences as a Faculty Aide and the student-initiated research projects he has worked on. Blake, an 8-year veteran of the US Navy, worked on a project titled “Municipal Authority and Climate Change Regulation” for a Harvard Law School lecturer. He was also part of a long-range study seeking to gain perspectives from survivors (friends, family, and communities) of the suicides of members of the US armed forces. Blake shared with us his experiences working on these projects, what he has gained in skills, what his next steps are after graduating from the Extension School, and what advice he would give to students interested in working as Faculty Aides.
