Episode 10

We had the privilege to speak with John D. Sutter, an Emmy-nominated director/producer and a journalist who has won the Peabody Award, Murrow Award, Livingston Award for Young Journalists, and more. He was a Senior Investigative Reporter and Climate Change Analyst for CNN and he created the “Two Degrees” and “Vanishing” series for CNN and led the network’s investigative work on uncounted deaths in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.

We were able to hear from John about the long-term Baseline 2020 documentary series he is creating, a 30-year planned series which will check in on the climate crisis in 5-year increments. He shared with us the contributions to that project of several Harvard Extension students who have worked as Faculty Aides in performing research to support the production. John also shared his career advice for students in our Sustainability and Global Development Practice graduate degree programs.
