Stephanie Zacharek is the film critic at TIME Magazine. She previously wrote film criticism for The Village Voice, Movieline, and Salon. She is the recipient of a Newswomen’s Club of New York award. Stephanie is a member of the National Society of Film Critics and the New York Film Critics Circle, has served on the jury of the 68th Berlin Film Festival, and was a 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist.
It was our great pleasure to talk to Stephanie and learn more about her work — how she approaches the task of writing reviews, how her writing style has been shaped by her worldview and experiences, and what she thinks about the current state of the film industry (and the future of film criticism).
