Episode 52
“[The i-lab] was absolutely, monumentally impactful. I always, when people ask, say [that] half of my learning happened in my degree program, and I think the other half of the learning happened in the i-lab.
…Very seldom can HES students go elbow to elbow with the Law students and the College students and the Kennedy [School] students. Everybody comes together, and we’re all working on things that are so meaningful to us. It’s really an exciting environment to get in there together and to learn the principles of and the science behind taking a concept and turning it into a meaningful startup.”
Veritel Energy, a venture created by Tony Keslinke (ALM Sustainability 2024), provides a comprehensive system for property owners to generate clean, renewable, on-site electricity for tenants in multi-metered apartments.
Veritel Energy was a semi-finalist in the President’s Innovation Challenge competition in both 2023 and 2024. Veritel was also a 2023 Harvard University Social Impact Fellowship Fund recipient.
It was our great pleasure to speak with Tony about what he learned through his extensive work at the Harvard i-lab — and what he advises future students do to make the most out of their Harvard Extension School degree candidate experience!
